Head Athletic Trainer, Bishop Amat Memorial High School
Kira Au (Class of 2001) is the Head Athletic Trainer for Bishop Amat High School in La Puente. She was featured this last fall in an ESPN story on concussion management at the high school level. Recently, Au was named the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) liasion to the North American Booster Clubs Association, the first athletic trainer to be so designated.

I work with teams that I never saw until I came to Middlebury (Field Hockey, Women's Ice Hockey and Women's Lacrosse). Also I've been to the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Argentina with the Women's Field Hockey team. Then Sweden and Finland with the Women's Ice Hockey team.

ULV class of 2006. I just finished up at CSU Fullerton (Master's Degree) in May... YAY!!! I am currently working full time for St. Joseph's Hospital and I am contracted to work as an athletic trainer/consultant at Disneyland. Also a member of the FWATA Clinical Industrial Corporate Committee.

Gabriella Macias
Physical Therapy Assistant
Gabby Macias is living in Texas and will complete her course of study as a Physical Therapy Assistant in July. She will graduate from the Coleman College of Health Sciences with the highest honors and has been president of the student body since 2006. Gabby plans on finishing her pre-requisites within the next year for Physical therapy school. She is actively involved in the community, currently assisting her sister with a fundraiser for Casa de Esperanza which is provides shelter for abused and neglected children. Gabby has also taken up cycling, and will compete in her first 150 mile race in November but has already have participated in several shorter races.
Guillermo Escalante, MBA, ATC, CSCS
President, SportsPros
Guillermo Escalante is the President of SportsPros, his own business that works with highly active people in a performance enhancement environment. Effective January of this year, he became the sports medicine department author for MuscleMag International magazine (www.emusclemag.com), and will be writing a monthly column related to bodybuilding and sports medicine. The first issue just came out on newstands in June. Guillermo is working on finishing his doctoral dissertation in addition to his full-time work with SportsPros and ongoing participation in body-building competitions. He is engaged to be married to Monica in October.

Will Sinon is currently serving as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Lake Elsinore Storm, a minor league affiliate of the San Diego Padres Professional Baseball Club.
Sarah Hoisington
Nursing Student
Sarah Hoisington graduated in 2005 and moved to San Diego in 2006. She has been working full-time for a non-profit called the Community Foundation while applying to nursing programs and taking pre-requisites. In her spare time, she got into running and tried to participate in the community by being involved in running groups and events such as being a member of the runner's ministry with the Rock Church. Sarah ran the Coronado Rotary Club Low Tide Ride and Stride and Coronado Bay Bridge Run. She will be entering the Nursing Program at Azusa Pacific University in the fall of 2008.

Erin Johnson, MS, ATC
Executive Chef
Erin Johnson is currently the Executive Chef at PF Changs in Houston, TX. After graduating from La Verne in 1991, she had stints as a physical therapy aide at Pomona Valley Hospital, served as the assistant athletic trainer at La Verne, completed her Master's degree at Indiana State University, served as the assistant athletic trainer at Methodist College in North Carolina, then became head athletic trainer at Caney Creek High School in Texas before taking on her current position. Although primarily outside of athletic training, she still maintains her Certification and has been able to meet with other La Verne alums at the past two NATA Conventions.
Michelle (Geiger) Okayama

Michelle Gieger is the Head Athletic Trainer at Bonita High School in La Verne. Michelle recently wrote: "Aaron and I got married on 6/14/08 in Fallbrook, CA. I will still be going by Michelle Geiger at Bonita but it is Michelle Okayama otherwise. I think I will still always be called "Geiger" anyways. As I remembered back to ULV it scared me for a minute as I realized that I am going on 9 years as an ATC...I'm getting old!"
