Darren Richards, class of 2007, passed the Certification Examination and has been accepted into the Physician Assistant Program at Loma Linda University for Fall, 2008.
Jervae Odom, ATC
Intern Athletic Trainer
Jervae Odom, Class of 2007, has transitioned a role as intern Athletic Trainer with the Los Angeles Clippers Professional Basketball team to another prestigious internship, this time with the Minnesota Vikings Professional Football team. Odom begins his duties in April and will remain with the team through the NFL season.
Ben Torres, ATC
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Ben Torres, Class of 2007, was recently named Assistant Athletic Trainer for the San Jose SaberCats Arena Football Team. Torres will assist in the day to day athletic training care of the highly successful professional football club.
Kira Au, MS, ATC
Head Athletic Trainer, Bishop Amat Memorial High School
Kira Au, MS, ATC, a 2004 graduate of the University of La Verne, was featured on ESPN's Outside the Lines program on November 4. Au, currently Head Athletic Trainer at Bishop Amat Memorial High School in La Puente, was interviewed for a segment on High School Concussions. The program highlighted the growing concern over concussions in high school football players and the role of the Certified Athletic Trainer in reducing the incidence and severity of these often catastrophic injuries. Au was interviewed on her role in concussion management, as well as featured along with the Bishop Amat football team in practice and game video segments. A news note on Au and the ESPN program was featured on the National Athletic Trainers Association web site (www.NATA.org). Au was a member of the inaugural Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) class, and competed on the ULV womens water polo and swimming teams. Following graduation from ULV with her degree in Athletic Training, Au attended Indiana State University, where she earned her Masters degree in 2005. After a one-year stint at UC Irvine as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, Au became the first Certified Athletic Trainer at Bishop Amat in 2006.

During the 2007 NATA Convention in Anaheim, 30 past and present students, along with past and present faculty and staff, gathered to share memories of what it means to be a ULV Athletic Training Program member.
